Róisín Mullins is currently one of the world’s leading female Irish Dancers and choreographers. She regularly performs as the soloist of Róisín Mullins' Raven Dance Company, as well as teaching at prestigious events, and running the Róisín Mullins Dance Academy. A former dancer of Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance -Troupe 1, and English Representative at the World Irish Dancing Championships, Róisín is also a fully certified Irish Dance Teacher. She is in addition a certified professional Teacher of Freestyle Disco Dance, Modern Jazz Dance and Cheerleading.
Róisín trained at both the B.R.I.T. School for Performing Arts and also as a scholarship student at the University of Surrey. Shehas recently been awarded a BA (Hons) in Dance. She is a professional Teaching member of all of the major boards of Dance, including, An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha, The International Dance Teachers Association, and the British Cheerleading Association, and is an eligible MRT of the Royal Academy of Dance.
She has operated as a Dance Teacher at the University of Surrey in between working as a Freelance Dance Artist. Her recent dance workshops have inlcuded BBC's Big Dance, and regular bookings by Move-It, and The Surrey Youth Ballet, and her specialisms are teaching Flatley style Irish Show Dance, and choreographing Irish Dance fusion works.
In 2006 Róisín established the Róisín Mullins Dance Academy, a dance training school which operates classes throughout South-East of England. The academy trains dancers from beginner through to professional, and offers numerous forms. In 2007, she also established Raven Dance Company, as a UK based, professional Modern Irish Show Dance Company, who perform fusions of Irish and Modern Dance at prestigious private, corporate and public events. She has recently been in involved in the creation of Behind the Scenes, a site specific choreography by Seven Sisters Group, and has been appointed the Project Manager, of Sheron Wray's Special Request, a Dance Education project.
As a professional dancer with MichaelFlatley's Lord of the Dance Roisin performed in many of the world's finest stadiums and theatres including; The Prague Sports Hall (Prague), T-Mobile Arena (Prague), Duhova Arena (Czech Republic), Frydek-Mistek Sportovni Hala (Czech Republic), The Dom Sportova (Zagreb), The Hala Rondo (Brno), Ukraina Palace (Kiev), The Kharkov Arena (Ukraine), Odessa Arena (Ukraine), The Olympiahalle (Munich), Sava Centar (Belgrade), Hamburg Sporthalle (Germany), and The Vienna Opera House (Vienna), and has toured worldwide. As a UK professional Irish Dance soloist Róisín has performed at the Irish Embassy, London, GDA Cabaret, London, The South Lodge Hotel, Sussex, and the University of Surrey, and has also performed at the London Palladium.
As the current Lead Dancer of Raven Dance Company Róisín has also been asked to perform solo work backed by the company at prestigious UK venues such as The Hop Exchange, London, The Grosvenor House Hotel, The Hotel Intercontiental, Mercedes Benz World, Epsom Downs Racecourse,and The Birmingham NEC. Róisín has also been requested at events such as The Rose of Tralee, The Saffron Walden Carnival, Big Dance London, Regent Street Festival, Macmillan Annual Ball, London St.Patrick's Day Celebrations, and Move-It, London. She has performed for PR Max Clifford, and alongside celebrities including Des O'Connor, Bobby Davro, X-Factor's Daniel Evans, and professional and celebrity dancers from the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.
Róisín's work has been covered widely by the National and regional media, and articles have to date been included in The Irish World Newspaper, The Irish Post Newspaper, The International Irish Dancing and Culture Magazine, I.D.T.A. Dance International Magazine, Dancing in the UK Magazine, Dance Dynamic Magazine and Surrey Life Magazine, as well as in many regional publications. Róisín has also been featured on numerous Irish and cultural websites and on radio and television.
